Rishab Ghosh
Founder/President
Rishab, a junior at Westview High School in San Diego, is passionate about medicine and STEM education. With a love for biology and chemistry, he aspires to become a physician and advance equitable healthcare. A dedicated Science Olympiad competitor since sixth grade, he has earned multiple top-three finishes and became a state champion in Anatomy and Physiology. His commitment to inspiring others led him to coach younger students and found The Science Quest, a nonprofit promoting hands-on STEM learning. The organization aims to expand globally, empowering youth from all backgrounds to love STEM, embrace healthy living, and apply science to real-world challenges. Rishab also engages in biomedical research and volunteers at an underserved hospital. Outside academics, he plays basketball, cares for pets, and enjoys exploring global cuisines.

Lylia Zheng
Co-Founder/Vice President
Lylia is a junior at Westview High School. Her favorite subjects are science and engineering. She has been an active competitor in Science Olympiad since sixth grade, earning medals at both the Regional and State levels in Experimental Design and Disease Detectives. She is also passionate about engineering and serving as co-captain of her FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team. Through The Science Quest, she hopes to inspire younger students to explore STEM and discover the same curiosity that first sparked her own love of science. Outside of academics, she enjoys folding origami and running.

Sophia Yao

As a Senior at Westview High School, Sophia is passionate about the biological/chemical research field, having done many laboratory projects through the school’s iGEM program and internships at UCSD. Through Science Quest, she hopes to help spread her passion to the younger generation, providing opportunities for children to learn STEM related topics, and to create a community where all students are able to explore their interests. Outside of academics, she enjoys taking part in the school’s marching band, playing clarinet and other instruments. In her free time, she loves drawing and embroidering.

Noureen Chowdhury
Marketing & Communications Manager
Noureen is a Sophomore at Westview High School. She loves Biology and Earth sciences. She has been doing Science Olympiad since she started Middle School and has earned medals in various events such as Experimental Design, Ecology, Rocks and Minerals, and Disease Detectives. She has done many hands-on medical activities through the school's Biomedical program. With the help of The Science Quest, she hopes to share her love for science with everyone around her. In her spare time, she likes to sing, dance, and hang out with her friends. Her goals as a person are to travel the world, learn about the things around her and to inspire the people around her.

Elina Basu

Elina is a sophomore at South Windsor High School in Connecticut. Her favorite subjects are Math and Science, with her favorite fields of science being Biology and Astronomy. She also participates in school clubs like FBLA, Robotics, and Science Olympiad, where she has medals multiple times at the regional and state levels. Outside of school, she dances competitively and plays the violin. Elina also loves to bake and spend time with her friends. Through The Science Quest, she hopes to inspire, empower, and share her love for science with younger students.

Sonia is a sophomore at South Windsor High School in Connecticut. At school she enjoys the subjects of Math, English, and the study of Astrology. Sonia has volunteered at debate tournaments and in an after school tutoring program. Outside of school she participates in many sports such as, Lacrosse, Volleyball, and Swimming. Through the Science Quest she hopes to inspire the younger generation towards their interests in the science field outside of their schooling. Outside of sports and academics Sonia likes to read, listen to music, and draw.

Lucas is a sophomore at Westview High School. His favorite subjects at school are physics, specifically optics, and chemistry. Outside of school, Lucas likes to play chess, badminton, and violin. As a science olympiad state medalist, he also enjoys teaching middle school kids about science olympiad. In order to positively impact more students starting from a young age, Lucas joined the Science Quest in March 2026. He also wants to help kids find what field of science they are interested in so that they can spend time exploring it.

A senior at Westview High School, Sarah enjoys learning about physics, math, and engineering, and also hopes to study electrical engineering. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, drawing, and playing music, particularly the drums. She hopes to help younger students better understand STEM topics and help them find what they’re interested in through The Science Quest.

Nora is a sophomore at El Capitan High School with a passion for biology, anatomy, and neuroscience. She hopes to pursue a career in healthcare and is actively involved in STEM and student leadership through her role as Vice President of her school's Health Pathway, commissioner in ASB, participant in BEWiSE, and volunteering at Sharp Chula Vista. As a HESI and Alzheimer’s San Diego intern alumna, she enjoys exploring opportunities that combine science, community, and care. Through the Science Quest, she hopes to inspire younger students to develop confidence in STEM through hands-on experiences and encourage them to explore STEM careers. Having experienced what it is like to navigate STEM opportunities with limited guidance, Nora is passionate about helping younger students discover their potential. Outside of academics, Nora enjoys baking, hiking, traveling, volunteering, and hanging with friends.

Varun is a freshman at Westview High school with a passion for history and STEM. He hopes to pursue a career in architecture. Outside of school, I enjoy playing a variety of sports (cricket and basketball) and playing music (piano).
